If your kids are grown and moved out of the house and you are living alone or with your spouse or significant other, then congratulations; you are an Empty-Nester!
Perhaps this a new experience for you or maybe it’s been that way for quite awhile. Regardless, it’s quite possible that you’re starting to get the urge to downsize and simplify.
But the word “downsize” might just be a little too scary for you. While “downsizing” can bring up thoughts of weakness or downgrading, I’d like to suggest that you think about downsizing in a different way.
As a duly certified professional for senior housing needs (a trained and experienced Indianapolis real estate agent who specializes in real estate services and downsizing for Adults 55+), I regularly share free “Downsizing Made Easy” seminars across the Central Indiana area.
But rather than “downsizing,” what if you thought about the process as “composing” your life instead? It’s actually a simple restructuring of your life. You’re changing your life and adapting to a lifestyle with less clutter and perhaps a new home that’s smaller, easier to maintain, and where you can enjoy more amenities and activities.
You’re saying “bye-bye” to draining baggage that may be weighing you down on a physical, emotional, and, perhaps, financial level. When you downsize a house in Indianapolis – or compose it – you’re more able to focus on what’s really important and to clear room in your world for exciting new things!
I absolutely believe – and know – that it’s vital for all of us to regularly look at things from a different perspective and view situations that we may consider “negative” as opportunities and “positives” instead.
