While I understood it was an important trend in the real estate business – after all, it’s an area that I enjoy immensely – I did not realize how extensive the movement was becoming in so many areas.

According to a story from MSNBC, in addition to real estate senior specialists like me, other specialists span areas ranging from “financial planning to moving, home staging, personal organizing and ‘late-life coaching.’ Roughly 25,000 people have sought training and education to focus on senior logistics,” states the article.
As an example, a company called Caring Transitions claims about 130 franchises across the country, where general contractors perform downsizing duties that retirees may wish assistance with. These can include coordinating the activities of moving companies, real estate agents, liquidators, charities, disposal companies, appraisers, cleaners and home stagers as retirees downize – or rightsize – into this next stage of their lives.
It seems like a great idea and yet another way to help older adults transition through what can be a stressful time.
