Keeping Indianapolis Green: How to Make Your Own Rain Barrel

In my job as an Indiana Realtor, one who helps people buy or sell Indianapolis houses, I’m always happy when I come across someone who’s focused on making their home environmentally-friendly. In my opinion, a green Indianapolis is a better Indy for us all, so I’m going to make it a priority to regularly include green advice and reference material for developing a green home.And we all know that watering our lawns, gardens, and potted plants uses up a ton of water. What better way to go green than learning how to build your own rain barrel? People have gathered rain water in barrels and other containers since the dawn of mankind – perhaps it’s time for us to get back to that. Let’s do it just the way our Indiana pioneer ancestors did!

This page offers some very nice ideas on camouflaging or decorating your barrel to better suit your landscaping and outdoor design.
