Info on 2012 Indianapolis ‘Walk to End Alzheimers”

September is “World Alzheimers Month” and the Alzheimers Association in the Greater Indianapolis area is helping to bring awareness to – and fund the fight against – this disease with the “2012 Walk to End Alzheimer’s” in Indianapolis on October 14, 2012.The walk will take place at Military Park at White River State Park with registration beginning at noon and feature a multitude of Marion County teams doing their part to battle the ravages of Alzheimers.

You can help by 1) Joining a team 2) Starting a team or 3) Walking as an individual.

There is no fee to register, but each participant is expected to fund-raise in order to contribute to the cause and raise awareness. The Alzheimer’s Association provides free, easy-to-use tools and staff support to help each participant reach their fundraising goal.

Whether you’re an eldercare services business in Carmel, an insurance agency in Fishers, or a real estate agent in Indianapolis buying and selling homes, you can enjoy an afternoon of great exercise and comraderie while helping to stem a disease that’s the sixth-leading cause of death in the United States, according to the Alzheimers Associations’ website.
