Indy South Side Labor Day Gateway Fest and Miracle Mile Parade
August 25, 2013
You know me; I love the south side of Indy. So here’s my recommendation for some Labor Day weekend family fun. It’s great for senior citizens, boomers, grandkids, and everyone in between. – LisaThe 2013 Gateway Fest and Miracle Mile Parade is ready to be a part of your south side of Indianapolis Labor Day Weekend on Saturday, August 31, 2013.

The fun starts at 8 a.m. with the much anticipated Gateway Fest breakfast at Southern Plaza and continues through dark with a concert and fireworks at Garfield Park.

Sandwiched between will be even more entertainment and music at the main stage, plus either an 11-mile or 24-mile Miracle Mile bicycle ride. Registration is from 11a to 12 noon at the Garfield Park Arts Center.

While the bicycle ride starts at 12:45pm, the Labor Day parade begins at 1p. The theme of this year’s parade is “Celebrating Indy’s Seven South Side Neighborhoods.”

The Art Fair, Food, and Marketplace is packed with plenty to keep both children and adults intrigued, entertained, and well-fed, while the Miracle Mile Cruisers Car Show at Southern Plaza opens at 9am, enthralling all with the beauty of magnificent automobiles. Proceeds from the car show will benefit the Gateway Community Alliance Capital Campaign.

The Labor Day Weekend Gateway Fest and Miracle Mile Parade is a fantastic way to celebrate the holiday and to enjoy and celebrate the south side of Indianapolis.
